OUR HISTORY

JH Concrete Construction, Inc. was founded in August of 1994 by two brothers – Jerry and Jack Holtschlag – in hopes of doing enough residential driveways and patios to support their families. Their plans to stick to the small projects were quickly scrapped, as they became a full-service commercial concrete contractor by the late 1990s, servicing Quincy, IL and surrounding areas.

In 1999, JH Concrete Construction, Inc. completed the Walmart supercenter in their hometown of Quincy, IL. Into the early 2000s, they found great success completing Walmart supercenters across the Midwest, and discovered their niche in big box retail projects. To date, JH Concrete Construction, Inc. has been a part of over 200 new construction big box retail projects across the country.

Although JH Concrete’s specialty is in the ground up retail space, they are no one trick pony. Over the years, they have completed over million square foot distribution centers, healthcare facilities, civil construction projects, schools, large scale remodels, complex industrial and manufacturing projects, greenhouse projects, and residential jobs – both large and small. They also completed their first tilt-up concrete project, as a company, in 2021.

Jerry and Jack grew JH Concrete Construction, Inc. into what it is today by accepting any challenge thrown their way. Whether it is extremely complex specs, or a seemingly impossible deadline, JH Concrete Construction, Inc., has been known to work closely with clients and other trades to do whatever it takes to get the job done.  Their team is capable and willing to show up anywhere in the country at a moment’s notice and are known for getting the project done ahead of schedule.
